Remove Firefox’s link border

Posted 3 weeks, 3 days ago

How to remove the dotted border around an active link in Firefox.

As you probably have noticed, Firefox ads a dotted border around a link when you click on it.

The most of the designers don’t like that becouse it changes the look and feel of our creations.

Here is the solution to remove it. Using css.

a:active, a:focus {
outline: 0;
}

a{
-moz-outline-style:none;
}

works also…

Do you have a solution for the problem in IE?

Thanks anyway!

Ryan

If you remove the link outline then you must add a focus state to links, otherwise people tabbing through links on a/your website won’t know which link they are on. That’s what the outline is for.

Nice site by the way, found it through CSS Mania.

@Kevin
Haven’t found one for IE yet. I will probably in the future.

@Ryan
Good idea, I’ll think about it.

@Sil
Thanks for the code. Didn’t know that one.
